Frequently asked
Every question we get before the call.
Plain-language answers from an operator who has run the same systems on his own home service company for years. If your question isn't here, ask us on the intro call — we'll tell you straight.
The list

The first eight questions are the ones that come up on every intro call. The rest cover the system, the data, and the exit terms.
How much does this cost?
Three plans with prices listed on this page: Foundation ($497/mo), Growth ($997/mo, most teams start here), and Scale ($2,497/mo + ad spend). No setup fees on any tier — we waive setup so you're not paying $5–10k upfront before you see a single lead. The Scale tier is the only one that includes Facebook and Instagram ad management, so its ad spend goes directly to Meta and is separate from our service fee. If you want a custom plan, the prequal form on the next page asks the right questions and you get an itemized quote before any call.
Is the ad spend included or separate?
Ad spend is only relevant on the Scale tier and is always separate from our service fee. It goes directly to Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — we don't mark it up, we don't take a percentage. We help you set a budget that matches your service area, your average ticket, and your capacity to handle leads. Most home service clients start in the $1,500–$5,000/mo ad spend range; we'll recommend a number on your call. Foundation and Growth tiers have no ad spend because they don't include paid ads.
Am I locked into a contract?
No long-term contracts on any tier. Cancel anytime with 30 days' notice. We don't believe in 12-month minimums or kill fees — they're how agencies survive when their work stops working. We'd rather earn the relationship every month by booking jobs. If we're not delivering, you should be able to leave without paying us to walk away.
Which trades do you work with?
Pressure washing, paver sealing, plumbing, roofing, HVAC, and landscaping. The Foundation and Growth tiers work identically across all six — same backend system, same automation flows. What changes is the creative angle and the messaging on your site and ads. The Scale tier requires us to learn your trade's specific buying signals (a roofing customer behaves very differently from a paver sealing customer), so we typically onboard one trade per month to do it right.
How fast can we be up and running?
Foundation and Growth tiers are typically live within 7–10 days from contract signing. Scale tier takes 14–21 days because we edit your existing jobsite footage (or build ads from your photos if video isn't available) into custom creative before launching. We don't fly out to film — you supply the raw material from work you're already doing, and we make it look premium. The biggest unblock is delivery: 20–30 minutes of phone footage in week one ships fast. We send you a checklist on day one so you know exactly what we need.
Who actually runs the ads — you or me?
On the Scale tier, we do. You don't touch Ads Manager. We build the creative, launch campaigns, manage targeting, tune budgets, and review performance daily. You get a dashboard showing leads, bookings, cost per lead, and what's converting. Foundation and Growth tiers don't include ad management — they're focused on website, follow-up automation, and (in Growth) SEO. If you upgrade from Growth to Scale later, we onboard the ads side without disrupting what's already running.
Why should I trust you over another agency?
Because the founder has personally owned a home service business for 15 years (paver sealing) and still runs it today. Speedster uses the same systems we run on our own company — they're battle-tested before they ever land on a client. Most marketing agencies serving the trades have never owned a service business, and that gap shows up in everything: creative that doesn't speak operator, follow-up scripts written by people who've never quoted a job, advice that ignores what your day actually looks like. We don't have that gap.
What if my trade isn't one of the six you list?
We run end-to-end on six trades — pressure washing, paver sealing, plumbing, roofing, HVAC, and landscaping/lawn care — because that's where we have proven creative angles, follow-up sequences, and operator know-how. But the underlying system (instant reply, Facebook + Instagram ads, multi-touch follow-up, review automation) transfers cleanly to most high-ticket home service verticals. Pool builders, fencing, concrete, solar installers, tree service, kitchen and bath remodelers — we've helped or assessed all of them. If you're in a high-ticket home service trade not on our list, reach out via /contact and we'll tell you straight on the intro call whether it's a fit. If we can't deliver, we won't sell you.
Who isn't a good fit for Speedster?
If you're under $500k in annual revenue, we're probably not the right call yet — Foundation tier is built for crews ready to scale, not solo operators trying their first marketing agency. If you want a one-month trial to 'test' an agency before committing, we're not your fit either; the system needs at least 60–90 days to compound. If you're outside the U.S., we don't currently serve international markets. And if you're not in one of our six trades (pressure washing, paver sealing, plumbing, roofing, HVAC, landscaping), the engine won't transfer cleanly. We'll tell you on the intro call if you're not a fit — no time wasted, no awkward proposal.
How does Speedster's follow-up automation actually work?
Every new lead gets a text and email within 60 seconds of submitting a form, calling, or DMing — automatically. If they don't reply within a defined window, the system sends gentle, human-toned follow-ups across multiple touches over 14 days. The moment a lead replies, all automation stops on that lead so you (or your CSR) can take over the conversation. Once the job is booked, a different sequence handles confirmation, day-of reminders, and a post-job review request. Nothing is generic — every message is tuned to the trade and the buying stage.
What is GHL and why does Speedster use it?
GHL is the platform that runs the backend (CRM, automation, pipeline, calendar, phone number, conversations inbox) underneath Speedster's stack. We build the system inside GHL because it's the only platform we've found that lets a small home service operator run their entire lead-to-job flow from one place — without paying $2k/mo for an enterprise tool they'll never use 90% of. You don't need to know GHL exists; we install, configure, and tune it. You see a clean dashboard and a mobile app for the operator.
Can I keep my existing website and just use Speedster's backend?
Yes. Foundation tier includes a new website, but if you have one you love we can integrate the backend (chatbot, instant reply, pipeline, automation, review flow) into your existing site without rebuilding. We'll need access to your current hosting and form embeds. Most operators end up rebuilding eventually because the existing site doesn't convert well, but it's not required to start.
Do I need to provide my own ad creative footage?
Yes, on the Scale tier. We don't fly out to film — you (or your crew) capture footage during work you're already doing. Phone-shot is fine. If you don't have good video, we build ads from your existing photos. We send a simple shooting checklist on day one so you know exactly what to capture, and we handle all the editing and copywriting. The Foundation and Growth tiers don't require footage because they don't include ad management.
What does 'instant reply' actually mean — like, how fast?
Under 60 seconds, automated. The moment a lead submits a form, calls and hangs up (missed-call text-back), or DMs your social profiles, the system sends a personalized text and email asking the qualifying question. The response goes out whether you're at your desk or running a job at 2pm on Saturday. Speed-to-lead is the single highest-leverage thing in home service marketing — research consistently shows that contacting a lead within five minutes increases booking rates by 100x compared to an hour later, and our system does it in under one.
How do you handle review requests without being spammy?
Reviews requests fire automatically only after a job is marked completed in the pipeline — never on a cold lead, never on an unfinished job. The first request is a polite text. If they don't respond, we send one gentle reminder a week later. If they still don't respond, the sequence stops permanently — we never re-ask the same customer next year. If they leave a review, the sequence stops the moment the review is detected. The result: more reviews, no annoyed customers, no awkward repeats.
What about referral requests?
Optional, and only sent to customers who completed a job and either left a positive review or rated the work positively in our post-job survey. Cold leads never see referral asks. The request is simple and operator-toned — not a corporate referral program. About 10–15% of happy customers send a referral within 90 days when this is set up correctly.
Do I have to use the calendar booking, or can customers still call?
Both. The system gives every customer the option — calendar link in every text, phone number listed prominently, missed-call text-back so calls don't drop. Most home service customers prefer text, but older customers and emergency calls still come through the phone. Nothing changes about your existing phone number; we add a tracked number that forwards to it so we can attribute leads to ad spend correctly.
What happens if I want to leave Speedster?
30 days' notice and you're out. No kill fee, no contract penalty, no clawback on ads we've run. We export your CRM data, hand over any domain or hosting we manage, and document what you'd need to keep things running. We've never lost a client to a competing agency — clients leave because their business changed (got too big for our ICP, sold the business, hit pause on growth). We tell you that on day one. Cancel anytime is the deal.
Is my data safe? Who owns the customer list?
You own all customer data. Period. Speedster operates the system on your behalf; we don't sell, share, or use your customer list for anything other than your own marketing. If you cancel, we export the full CRM and hand it over. We're a small operator-built shop — your trust is our entire business.
